NEW CAREERS CURRICULUM
As you may know, BC’s Ministry of Education is currently updating BC curriculum. As a result of community feedback, this will now include more intentional Careers Education from K-12 including 3 new courses from 9-12 where completion is REQUIRED for graduation.
Grade 10s will continue to have a course within the regular timetable. Planning 10 will be replaced with Career-Life Education 10. See individual teachers for their Course Outlines.
The following courses will be scheduled in addition to their regular 8 course timetable and will be delivered through myBlueprint in conjunction with once a month face to face support from HAT teachers.
Grade 9s will complete Career Education 9. See the Career Education Courses tab in the menu at the top of this page and the Career Education 9 Course Outline for more information.
Grade 11s will complete 2 credits of their Career-Life Connections 11/12 course in Grade 11. See the Career Education Courses tab in the menu at the top of this page and the Career-Life Connections 11 Course Outline for more information.
Grade 12s will complete the remaining 2 credits of their Career-Life Connections 11/12 course in Grade 12. This portion of the course will focus on preparing them for their REQUIRED Capstone Presentation which will take place April 25, 2019. Failure to complete the Grade 11 component or the Capstone Presentation will delay graduation. See the Career Education Courses tab in the menu at the top of this page for more information.
